Turn One Racing Signs Fitzpatrick to Full-Season Deal

China Grove, NC (February 15, 2012) – Turn One Racing announced today that the 2006 CASCAR Super Series Champion JR Fitzpatrick has been named driver of the No. 60 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  Fitzpatrick replaces Cole Whitt, who finished ninth in the series standings last year and has since moved on to compete full-time at JR Motorsports.

“I am so pumped to be getting this chance to race with Turn One Racing,” said Fitpatrick. “I love the Truck Series and the guys here seem really cool so it feels like a good place for me to be right now.  The fact that I get a chance to put an entire season together in the same series and with the same group is really going to help my NASCAR career.  I have had good runs before, I actually led the most laps and finished fourth in my first Daytona start and I also have some top-5's in the Nationwide Series but for me to be able to go to the track every week is going to be huge.”

The chance to have another proven talent behind the wheel of the No. 60 Chevrolet is huge for Team Owner, Stacy Compton.  “We are really looking forward to working with JR, his management team, and sponsors,” said Compton.  “JR is a proven talent that has only gotten a few opportunities to race in NASCAR.  We are excited to put a program together for him that will allow him to showcase his talents here in the States.  Although we are still working to finalize sponsorship for a handful of races, we hope to have those details ironed out in the coming weeks.”

The 23 year-old native of Cambridge, Ontario was the youngest driver to ever win the CASCAR Super Series Championship; an accomplishment he achieved at the age of 18 after recording one win, five podium finishes and two pole awards.  Since then, the young Canadian has accumulated 14 career starts in both the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series'.  His best finish overall came in the 2009 NextEra Energy Resources 250 Truck Series race at Daytona, where he finished fourth after leading 17 laps in his debut at a restrictor plate track.

About Turn One Racing:  Turn One Racing was founded in 2006 by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran Stacy Compton.  Turn One Racing was designed to develop and promote young drivers of exceptional talent in the late model divisions across the Southeast.  In 2009, Turn One Racing expanded its involvement in motorsports by purchasing the assets of the highly successful NASCAR Camping World Car Series team of Wyler Racing, which had accomplished three wins, 20 top-five, and 35 top-10 finishes in 90 starts.  Up until recently, Turn One Racing operated as Wyler Racing, where they garnered two top-five, 15 top-10 finishes and 54 starts.  Since rebranding as Turn One Racing, the team has captured two pole positions, two additional top-five’s, and 14 top-10 finishes in 47 starts. The company is based outside “Race City  USA” in China Grove, North Carolina.
